Anne Karppinen is a university teacher, writer and musician. She holds a PhD in Contemporary Culture, and studied Creative Writing in the UK as a part of her studies. She has been teaching writing – both academic and creative – for over ten years.
Karppinen writes speculative and historical fiction; her short stories have appeared in various publications, including Not One of Us, Wyldblood Magazine and Toronto Journal. Her non-fiction book The Songs of Joni Mitchell was published by Routledge. She lives in Central Finland with a collection of weird folk music instruments.
